Dileep
Dileep born as Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai on 27 October 1978 is a Malayalam film actor, Mimcry artist and producer. He was born in Aluva, Ernakulam district, Kerala to Padmanabhan Pillai and Sarojam. He studied at S.N.V Sadanam School and Vidhyadhiraja Vidhya Bhavan High School. Later joined the Aluva U.C College and then transferred to Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam. After joining the Maharaja’s College he started taking Mimicry seriously as Dileep knew that Mimicry was the only roots in Kerala at that time. He later entered into the film industry through actor Jayaram who recommended him to director Kamal to work as an Assistant Director.

Dileep is married to actress Manju Warrier. She was aleading actress in the Malayalam Cinema world during the late 90’s but she chose to leave this field after her marriage. The couple is blessed with one daughter named Meenakshi.

Dileep started his acting career as a Mimicry artist in Cochin Kalabhavan. Dileep later started working as an Assistant Director to Kamal. His major set back was during the early 2000’s through the release of the movies such as Joker, Ishtam, Kalyanraman and Meesamadhavan, when people realised his acting talent.

Dileep started his career in a troupe called Kalabhavan, working as a Mimicry artist and also played a leading role in Asianet’s hit comedy programe named Comicola. Later he wirked as Assistant Director to Kamal. He later got some small roles in the movies, later actor Jayaram recommended his name to many directors and he got his first break through the movie Manathe Kottaram in the year 1992. Later he got many roles but during the late 90’s he was blessed with many prominent roles in the movies. Dileep was raised to stardom in the 2000’s where he got many comedy movies and performed well.

Dileep has won the Kerala State Film Special Jury Award for his performance in the movie Kunjikoonan (2002). In the year 2005, he also won the Special Jury Award at the Kerala State Film Awards. In the year 2008, Dillep produced the movie Twenty-20, which is considered to e the second highest grossing film in the Malayalam cinema industry. Dileep was chosen as No.1 in the year 2010 by Sify because most of his films were super hits. In the year 2002, he also won the Best Actor Award for the movie Meesa Madhavan.

Dileep also owns a restaurant named Twenty:20 Food Mall in Padma Cinemas at Kochi. He owns a house boat in Alappuzha. And now he is residing at Aluva near Periyar river opposite to Aluva Mahadeva temple.
